Check your wall type and choose the ideal hardware for the job. Avoid drilling into electrical cables or water pipes. Locate and mark vertical wooden studs or use plasterboard hardware for hollow walls.
Use a level to ensure a straight shelf and mark the bracket drill holes slightly below the desired shelf placement. Follow the instructions for your specific shelf. Drill holes with the appropriate masonry or plasterboard drill bit. Use wall plugs for brick walls and suitable fixings for plasterboard. Mark the correct depth to avoid drilling too far.
Insert wall plugs or fixings and screw in the brackets. Tighten the screws once everything is level.
Slide on the shelf and secure it in place using screws underneath.
