A Kitchen Island Cart Project idea with Crates
Who knows that crates could get you a lovely kitchen island? This movable kitchen island also gives you a worktop and nine extra storages for different ingredients.
But first, prepare plywood boards cut in sizes for four vertical dividers, six horizontal dividers, one top, one base, and one back.
Here are the assembly steps:
- Arrange the vertical dividers on the base, with a 14-inches distance between two partitions, and secure them using brad nails.
- Then, place the top part and secure it.
- Next, arrange the horizontal dividers, a pair for each shelf, and secure them.
- Slowly lay down your soon-to-be kitchen island and install casters under the base.
- After that, put in all the crates, and name each after the ingredients inside.
How to Install Maximera Drawer under A Regular Kitchen Sink
The problem with buying a single unit from a series of factory-manufactured products is it mostly doesn’t fit your existing furniture. So, you must rack your brain to make them suit each other. Relax if you plan on buying an IKEA Maximera drawer but don’t have an IKEA sink.
Here’s the instruction to pair the two.
- First, make an effort to ensure your plumbing is leak free.
- Then, assemble the drawers according to the manual but leave the front.
- Apply construction adhesive before installing the slide-in drawer bottom.
- When it’s dry, install the drawers’ fronts.
- Next, measure the sink’s depth and the length between the drawer’s top and the cabinet’s bottom.
- Then, lay on your back to pop the drawers onto the drawer slides.
- Make sure that it can go back and forth freely without hitting anything.
- If it hits something, adjust the shape of the drawer by cutting it off.
