Utilize the Inside of Outside of the Cabinets
5. Three DIY Cutting Board Storage Hacks
From Kara Fidd.
First, construct the shelf by gluing and nailing together three boards of any wood type. Attach the shelf to the cabinet using a nail gun, then use wooden dowels and pipe connectors to create a DIY holder hack. Paint or stain the dowels and connectors to your preference. To install the cutting board holders, drill a hole through the side of the cabinet, push a screw through from the inside, and line up the end of the wooden dowel to fit directly into it. Finish with rub and buff, or leave it natural.

Use cherry wood to construct a cutting board storage that hangs over the counter space. The 16″ backboard is joined to the 10″ shelf, then 3/8″ spacers are added to the rack back. Install the rack using screws or drywall screws if necessary.

Create a cutting board holder by nailing together scrap wood and attaching it to the inset part of the back of a cabinet. Use “L” brackets to secure it to the door. Painting to match the cabinets is optional.
These cutting board storage hacks are easy to make and a great space-saving solution. However, remember that each design may need to be adjusted based on the dimensions and materials of your space. It’s essential to ensure the holders are sturdy enough to support the weight of the cutting boards. Also, consider the type of wood you use, as softer woods may not hold up as well over time.
