13 Small Organization Bedroom Projects and Décor That “Do” Make a Difference

13. A Small bedroom closet hack with an IKEA wardrobe Pax hack from GetknottyDIY.

In the first small closet hack, we will tweak a regular IKEA Pax wardrobe system using an OSB board to fix the product’s flaw when it was challenged to deal with a non-ideal closet situation.

Firstly, Get an IKEA Pax wardrobe system and then Cut down 1x3s to size and place them at the top and middle of each frame.

Create bases out of 2x4s and OSB to fit a 5-inch baseboard and

move the frames onto the new bases. Connect the frames using cabinet screws and ensure they’re level. Add spacers in between the frames for added support, and use liquid nails and 1×2 MDF for the face frames.

Optional, add IKEA PAX wardrobe shelving at an angle for shoes.

12. Second IKEA Pax hack, this time from Vivandtimehome

Looking to assemble your first-time IKEA Pax wardrobe system but don’t know where to start? Here are some quick tips to help you get started!

First, assemble all the drawers so you can install them right after you’ve finished building the frames! Using ratcheting screwdrivers can save you a lot of time and effort, so invest in a good one (or two!) with Philips and flathead options.

Remember that the wall anchors that come with the PAX units don’t come with screws, so be sure to get your own based on the material of your wall.

To make the installation process easier, use painter’s tape to mark out the number of holes for the drawers, accessories, and shelves. This way, you can work on different parts of the installation at the same time.

Print out the summary of hole numbers from the IKEA PAX planner online to easily reference it during the build.

11. The under-bed storage idea with multiple sections

Start by measuring and cutting your wood, then paint all your boards. Cover your plywood with sticky-back contact paper and assemble the sides with pre-drilled holes before screwing them together. Add wheels, a front piece, and handles. Then paint over any exposed screws, add your items, and roll them under your bed! Perfect for anything besides Legos, shoes, or anything else you need to hide temporarily!
