A Modern Hallway Unit
Transform your 5×5 with 4×2 Kallax shelves into a tall hallway unit for your modern home.
- First, create the L shapes using the inside length of the 5×5 combined with the outside smaller end of the 4×2.
- Install the top and bottom shelves also dividers from the 4×2 unit using their original dowels. Now you have two shelves on top, a gap in the middle for sitting space, and two shelves in the bottom part.
- Next, attach the veneer ply to the back of the unit using screws.
- Then install 4″x1″ timber on it to give a sturdy base to add hooks.
- After that, place the hooks there.
- Lastly, put Kallax door inserts on the top shelves and shelf inserts on the bottom. And remember to add a cushion to provide a comfortable sitting space in your hallway unit.
