The IKEA Large Kitchen Island Idea
After meeting the small kitchen island on the last option, let’s move on to a bigger one.
Pick 2 Akurum 36″ base cabinets, 1 Akurum 36″ base sink cabinet, and 1 Akurum 15″ base cabinet with an upper drawer to serve as the basis for your kitchen island. Ensure all the products are in birch.
Next, assemble and place the cabinets in the center of the room. Leave a gap of several inches between each cabinet, or adjust to your needs.
Attach 3/4″ MDF on all sides of each cabinet, including to cover any gaps. That way, all your cabinets appear to have custom wainscoting while emphasizing that they are a whole unit.
Remember to provide holes, outlets, and wire systems in the cabinet for microwaves and other electronic devices. Next, install the plumbing and sink on one side of your kitchen island.
Meanwhile, complete the cabinetries with doors, drawers, and hardware according to the IKEA booklet or your wishes.
Sand, prime, and apply paints on the entire unit. Then attach the marble counter to the top of the kitchen island, and everything is clear!
