One thing in my home that tends to get forgotten when I'm cleaning is my window blinds. It's just not something that I think to clean until one day when I open my blinds and the sun shines right on all of the dust and dirt that has built up on them. Then I'm left wondering how many people have seen my blinds and thought...ew, gross. Hopefully nobody noticed, right? Back in the day, I used to take all of my blinds down twice a year and soak them in the bathtub. It was a complete pain, and I always ended up breaking a slat or two...not good. Last year, I tried this super easy trick, and I'm so happy to share how to clean window blinds without breaking them or taking them down...it's just too easy!

Secure each microfiber cloth with a rubber band or hair tie.

Insert the tongs with cloths into the slats in your blinds and apply pressure so the tongs close on the blinds. Move them back and forth across the blinds. The microfiber cloth will pull up all of the dust. Just wipe the cloths off with another cloth in between cleaning if they get too dusty.

If you have especially dirty blinds, you can lightly spray the microfiber cloths with an All -Purpose Cleaner like my homemade version and clean them.

  1. I understand that this might be an effective method, but it seems that putting on a mitten or glove - or even holding cloth on the slat would be more effective and a lot easier to handle than manipulating a pair of padded tongs. Your finger and thumb could also get around the end strings without leaving gaps.

    • How about laying it on the floor and using the soft round attachment to your vacuum?

      • I only use my brush attachment on my vacuum for blinds. If anything is left behind I use an old sock. The tong method seems like it’s just moving the dust around.

HI, Do you have a home remedy or natural way to get rid of painful corns on the bottom of feet that keep coming back over and over in the same place nearly weekly; even though I have removed the corns using the Dr. Scholl's acid pads regularly the cycle just goes on and on. Even my Dr. doesn't have any advice on any other method. Please send an e-mail on this topic soon! Thank you in advance!!!

    • My doctor recommends duct tape.

  4. Im going to try your blind cleaning method !

  5. Adorable Boston! We have 2 and adore this breed!
