Tiny homes are a common thing, and architects and designers look for more and more solutions to accommodate everything a modern person may need in small spaces. We are getting used to open layouts, united spaces that allows to make even a small space airy and make maximum of it. Not every home has enough space for a separate home office, so home offices are built in living rooms, bedrooms and even kitchens. Today I’m going to share some ideas of placing a home office in the kitchen and show you some cool examples.
Seamless Incorporating
A very popular idea is seamless incorporating of a home office into the kitchen. You may order the same cabinets and a matching desk that will continue the look of the kitchen. It may be placed in the corner or even use the countertop for working – why not go for multifunctional furniture? Use the upper cabinet for document storage and a desk for working, or go for some built-in shelves over the desk to make the storage airy. Highlight the space a little bit with some artworks, add a pinboard and a comfy upholstered chair or stool.

Separating
If you want to visually separate the office nook from the kitchen, you may visually divide the spaces easily. The easiest idea is to place the desk somewhere separately – by the window or in an awkward nook – make a small desk with a bit different look or go for a floating one. Add a comfy stool or chair and voila! One more way to go is to make a real dividing wall between the cabinet and the built-in desk and shelves. Visual ideas are printed wallpaper and different paint colors in the zone of working, and adding bold artworks and memo boards. Even a contrasting countertop will separate the spaces a bit.
