THE MATERIALS I USE:

PAINTS

My choice of paints are top of the range acrylics produced by the US company Golden Artist Colors, Inc.

Golden Heavy Body Acrylics retain excellent flexibility when dry, greatly diminishing the possibility of cracking that occurs in other natural and synthetic polymer systems. They also can absorb the constant stress and strain placed on canvas when it is shipped, stretched, or as it expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity.

CANVAS

My paintings are created on top quality Italian LINEN canvas (399 gsm = 11,77oz/yd2). It has antibacterial and antifungal properties, all of which help to preserve the integrity of the material. The fiber’s natural tensile strength is double that of cotton, contributing to a fabric that will stay true to the test of time, will not eventually flop and will hold its overall shape and tautness in most circumstances and environments (very important if you live in a humid climate). Its superior qualities make it the best surface for painting. Its high price is the main reason why many artists choose to paint on cotton or other canvases instead.

GESSO (PRIMER)

The canvas I paint on has been triple primed.

Gesso is applied in order to prepare (or "prime") the surface for painting, making the surface slightly textured or smooth and ready to accept acrylic paint. Gesso gives tooth and a certain level of absorbency to a painting surface. Without it, the paint would soak into the weave of the canvas. The Proper preparation with Gesso also increases the life span of the artwork.

GOLD

In my work I use imitation gold leaf. It adds a subtle luxury and class to a painting.

Gold Leaf has long been part of art techniques - from Early Christian art, used in icons and Western panel paintings, until the late Middle Ages. Gold leaf is also used in Buddhist art to decorate statues and symbols.

The property of the material is a brass alloy where the mixture of zinc and copper has been specifically controlled to create tones that closely mimic genuine gold leaf. Also known as Dutch metal, composition metal or Schlag metal.

STRETCHING/FRAMING:

The painting is sent in a roll (not stretched, not framed). You can take it to your local framing store to have it stretched/wrapped or do it yourself.

The canvas is with extra 2-3 inch border to allow for easy stretching. The border/edges are painted as a natural continuation of the design of the work which will allow you to display it with no frame if you wish. Framing is optional, abstract work looks great without a frame and since the edges are painted, you can hang it directly once it is stretched.

The sizes listed are the final sizes you will get after framing (the face of the painting).

I am fully confident in the quality of my paintings and the materials used. In the unfortunate event that you are not 100% satisfied with the painting I have created for you, I will issue you a full refund. No questions asked.

Refund: A full refund will be issued once I receive the painting back in its original state.

Shipping back: The customer pays the shipping costs for the return.

PLEASE NOTE:

The image you see is of the original painting which has already been sold. I will recreate an identical painting specially for you. As with any original work, the brush stroke is final and impossible to repeat and each painting is one of a kind.
